Joule Unlimited tops Biofuels Brand Index for July 9-13, edges Gevo

July 20, 2012 |

In Florida, Biofuels Digest debuted the Biofuels Brand Index, a new weekly feature tracking biofuels producer brands exposure.

The first weekly release, for the week of July 9-13, reveals the brand exposure for 52 different producers, based on appearances each made in the more than 90 news features published that week, and reader clicks.

For the week of July 9-13, Joule Unlimited led all brands with an indexed brand exposure value of 15.89, followed by Gevo at 6.05, Ultra Green at 4.15, Mascoma at 3.94, AdvanceBio at 3.44, BDI at 3.32, a 3-way tie between Abengoa, American Process and INEOS Bio at 3.30, and Karan at 2.85 just edging out Codexis for 10th place.

“With companies now embarking on first commercial projects – that means big capital raises and attracting customers,” noted Digest editor Jim Lane. “Brand value now counts more than ever – and we intend to measure brand visibility and credibility, looking not only at the stories in which brands appear, but at reader engagement with those stories.”

Clicks are indexed and weighted based on overall views of the Digest’s daily newsletter (for example, Monday and Tuesday generally receive the most views), and clicks within each daily newsletter to stories featuring the various brands. Click-throughs for stories that featured multiple brands were pro-rated.

The Biofuels Brand Index will be reported each Friday, based on weekly, quarterly and annual accumulated brand exposure.

Complete results for the week, for 52 companies in total, can be downloaded here.
