In New Zealand, Gull’s claims to be the country’s cheapest biofuel source has been shot down by the New Zealand Automobile Association. The organization released test results indicating that Gull’s biofuel, when compared on a road test against mineral-only fuel, is less efficient and therefore is saving customers very little money, if ever. “Not all fuels are created equal and the lowest price is not necessarily the lowest cost in the long run,” AA Petrolwatch spokesman Mark Stockdale wrote. Gull has fired back, their Managing Director Dave Bodger claiming the the test was “unscientific.”
