Four new ethanol plants in Indonesia to benefit from US investment

In Indonesia, the US will invest up to $5B to promote Indonesian infrastructure, and one project that will benefit is the construction of four ethanol plants jointly built by Indonesia’s PT Pertamina and Texas-based Celaneses Corporation. The process will be developing synthetic ethanol from coal , and the Celanese Corporation has been brought in to share its technology processes. The two companies will be arranging a supply arrangement as Indonesia pushes to reduce its gasoline imports by 30 million barrels per year.
