Fulcrum Sierra Biofuels receives federal loan guarantee to produce ethanol from solid waste
In Nevada, the Fulcrum Sierra Biofuels project has received a $105m federal loan guarantee from the USDA’s Biorefinery Assistance Program as it sets out to convert municipal solid waste to ethanol at a rate of 10mgy. The project represents the company’s first commercial scale facility and is expected to be completed by 2015.
