EPA to deal with fake RINs by year’s end

In Washington, the EPA expects to make proposals to tackle RIN fraud before year’s end. Proposals will include setting up guidelines to help root out phony RIN producers as well as “affirmative defense” for oil producers to protect them in the case of accidentally buying false RINs.
