US drought continues to slow down ethanol production as rising prices hit

In Washington, the Energy Information Administration reported that weekly ethanol production averaged 819,000 barrels per day – or 34.40 million gallons daily. That is up 2,000 b/d from the week before. The 4-week average for ethanol production stood at 810,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 12.42 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood at 18.4 million barrels. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 390.9 million gallons daily. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 8.80%.
