German development minister calling for E10 suspension

In Germany, the country’s development minister is calling to suspend the national E10 blending policy in response to rising food prices, expecting that those food prices are being further exasperated by biofuel production. The German Biofuel Industry Association says that only 4% of the country’s corn harvest went to ethanol production last year and that lifting the blend would have no effect on starvation in developing countries.
