Sapphire completes first phase of New Mexico project

In New Mexico, Sapphire Energy says the first phase of its 300 acre algae production facility is up and running. So far a 1.1 acre pond and a 2.2 acre pond are in operation. The company says it has so far harvested 21 million gallons of algae from the farm and expects to produce 100 barrels of biofuel per day by 2014.
