In Mississippi, Adams County officials hope to secure a deal with biofuel company, KiOR, to build a new $350 million plant. However, before the deal is final, a levee needs to be built at the site to avoid flooding. Adams County is committing itself to the project by applying for a $3 million state loan to help pay for levee construction. The remaining funds for the $6 million project will be financed by bonds. The county expects the KiOR project to generate 320 direct and indirect jobs.
