Biofuels Digest Index jumps to 61.93 as ethanol recovery gains momentum

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, jumped 1.12 percent to 61.93 as ethanol stocks soared. For the day, Aventine Renewables (AVRW) rocketed up 105.88 percent to $1.40, while Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) soared 6.25 percent to $5.27. Among other equities, Rentech (RTK) gained 3.03 percent to $2.38. Overall, advances led declines 4 to 1 for the day.
