Oxfam report claims UK mandate will raise energy prices, cause hunger in developing world

In the UK, Oxfam has published a new report indicating that drivers will be paying an extra £35 each year due to the British mandate that at least 10% of transport energy must come from renewable sources by 2020. Currently, 4.5% of the market is provided for by the biofuel industry, and as that number is pushed, the cost of fuel will rise. The report also claimed that biofuel mandates are causing hunger in the developing world, and that the land used to provide biofuel for the UK in 2008 could have fed 127 million people.
