Biofuels Digest Index drops to 65.53 as advanced biofuels get a beatdown

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, dropped 1.40 percent to close at 65.53 as advanced biofuels tumbled again.  For the day, Biofuel Energy (BIOF) dumped 9.61 percent to $5.83, while Gevo (GEVO) shed another 14.02 percent to $1.85 on news that it had missed 2012 operating targets. Among other equities, Amyris (AMRS) slid 3.66 percent to $3.68. Overall, declines led advances 3 to 1 for the day.
