Corruption charges hit Lithuania’s largest biofuels supplier

In Lithuania, a pre-trial investigation is underway involving Vilniaus Energija, the country’s main biofuels supplier Bionovus, and five other companies. The investigation was launched over suspicion of Vilniaus Energija executives raising heat prices and hurting customers. According to current findings, nearly all Vilniaus Energija purchases are from the same companies, yielding large profits for Vilniaus Energija and giving Vilniaus Energija executives dividends through chain companies.
