Advanced Ethanol Council welcomes Swiss Clariant Corporation

In Switzerland, Clariant Corporation, an international chemicals company, has recently joined the Advanced Ethanol Council. The AEC was formed in 2011 as an alliance of companies seeking to promote advanced ethanol production and technology. In July 2012, Clariant opened its demonstration cellulosic ethanol plant in Germany. Clairant also recently purchased, Süd-Chemie, which, since 2006 has been developing its proprietary sunliquid® process to produce ethanol from a several different agricultural residues and energy crops.
