Global Clean Energy Inc. expands into algae in Texas

October 3, 2012 |

In Texas, Global Clean Energy, Inc. (GCEI), a waste-to-energy conversion solutions company that cultivates biofuel feedstock from jatropha and switch grass, is now expanding into algae. The company believes that algae is the third most efficient feedstock for biofuels and is seeking land to construct an algae farm in the Rio Grande Valley. To reduce capital investment, GCEI hopes to purchase abandoned shrimp farms, which already have adequate algae production infrastructure in place.
