Biofuel Energy misses $3.6m payment, goes into default

In Minnesota, Biofuel Energy has missed a $3.6m payment of principal and interest, and the First National Bank of Omaha has declared the company in default. The company currently holds a $170m loan that is due in 2014. Biofuel Energy has responded that it is continuing discussions with lenders about possible forbearance, reinstatement, or debt restructuring.
