40 percent expansion announced for Kansas City-based Paseo Biofuels

In Missouri, Paseo Biofuels, LLC and Cargill revealed plans to expand its biodiesel capacity at its plant in Kansas City by 40 percent. Currently, the plant produces 40 million gallons of biodiesel and 30 million pounds of food-grade glycerin per year, using soybean oil. The companies expect the expansion to be completed by March 2013. Paseo Biofuels LLC is a joint venture between Cargill and 650 Missouri agriculture producers.
