Biofuels Digest Index drops to 63.77 as large caps slump

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, dropped 1.15 percent to 63.77 as large caps slumped.  For the day, Amyris (AMRS) recovered 5.17 percent to $3.05, while Valero (VLO) plunged 6.15 percent to $29.47 as shares in the company dropped below book value.  Among other equities, Solazyme (SZYM) shed 2.52 percent to $10.04. Overall, declines led advances 5 to 3 for the day.
