Flint Hills Resources to buy Kansas ethanol plant from Advanced Bioenergy LLC

In Kansas, Advanced BioEnergy, LLC is selling its ethanol plant in Fairmont to Flint Hills Resources. An indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries, Inc., Flint Hills Resources is a refining, chemicals and biofuels company primarily operating in the Midwest, Texas and Alaska. The Fairmont ethanol plant employs 50 people and has an annual capacity of 115 million gallons. It also annually produces over 320,000 tons of dried distillers grains as well as more than 18 million pounds of non-food grade corn oil. The sale is expected to be finalized before the end of 2012.
