In Malaysia, biodiesel production looks to increase after three years thanks to support from the government and the Malaysian Biodiesel Association. The MBA represents 22 national and international biodiesel producers with a total installed annual capacity of nearly 2.7 million tons. To further incentivize biodiesel production, the Plantation Industry and Commodities Ministry (MPIC) is now considering a transition from a B5 blending program to B10. The move would increase the consumption of CPO by another 300,000 tons per year and help to decrease the country’s palm oil surplus.
