Texas A&M presentation points to southeast as “Saudi Arabia” of energy crops

In Texas, Texas A&M executive associate director of AgriLife Research Bill McCutchen, made a presentation indicating that the southeast has the potential to become the “Saudi Arabia” of energy crops. He emphasized the importance of the Texas Gulf Coast as the “sweet spot” for growing energy crops that are drought tolerant and for production biofuels. “We are now working with BP, Chevron, Ceres and others to make this a reality for Texas and the Southeast,” said McCutchen.
