Biodiesel co-op moves up from volunteer to sustainable business
In Canada, Cowichan BioDiesel Co-op on Vancouver Island has finally moved from volunteer-sustainable to economically sustainable, and is now able to pay its employees producing biodiesel thanks to the co-op’s growing membership. Previously the co-op had to subsidize the fuel to make it price competitive, which weighed on finances.
