Brazilian sugar production a third more profitable than ethanol

In Brazil, University of Sao Paulo research group Cepea says that producing white sugar is 29% more profitable than producing anhydrous ethanol and is 36% more advantageous than producing hydrous ethanol. The domestic sugar market is currently more profitable than exports.
