Kentucky exploring on-farm processing of biomass rather than storage

November 22, 2012 |

In Kentucky, the University of Kentucky is leading a project that would develop on-farm biomass processing into intermediate liquids that could later be picked up and processed at a biofuels facility, much like milk is picked up from dairies and later packaged and marketed. So far the project is fairly theoretical but the infrastructure is in place so may soon become feasible.
