New study to gauge farmer interest in grass for biofuel in Maine

In Maine, the Center for Rural Sustainable Development at the University of Maine at Fort Kent has been awarded a grant to study farmer interest in growing grass for local bioenergy production. About half of Aroostook County’s ag land is currently out of production, so introducing grass could help keep the land in agricultural production and ready for increased food production when demand occurs.
