December 6, 2012 |

In Hawaii, you can now call it HiSERF, the Hawaii Sustainable Energy Research Facility. The 10-year-old Hawaii Fuel Cell Test Facility – sponsored by the Hawaii Natural Energy Institute at the University of Hawaii-Manoa and Hawaiian Electric Company — got that new name, a new logo and a new sign to reflect its new and expanded mission in helping Hawaii reach a clean energy future. Since its creation in April 2003, the laboratory has become one of the foremost fuel-cell research facilities in the country attracting in excess of $ 12 million for research from the Office of Naval Research, U.S. Department of Energy and numerous industry partners.
