U.S. Steel Canada teams with Union Gas and Pond Biofuels

In Canada, U.S. Steel Canada has teamed with Union Gas and Pond Biofuels to test algae production from CO2 that is emitted from the company’s Nanticoke, Ont. power station smoke stack. Pond Biofuels plans to use LED lighting to cost effectively supply enough light to the algae during darker months that will allow for year-round algae production.
