In California, the Imperial Valley News is reporting that the California State Division of Measurement Standards, part of the Department of Food & Agriculture, has tested and sample of 20 percent renewable diesel blends, produced by Solazyme and distributed by Propel Fuels as part of a pilot program in Berkeley, Oakland, Redwood City and San Jose. “The tests were also good indicators that engine deposits and engine wear will be minimal, and that corrosion and filter plugging are reduced – very important factors for fuel used in diesel engines,” the News reported.
