Patriot Biofuels backs hemp as bioenergy feedstock

In Kentucky, Patriot Biofuels is putting its weight behind the movement to grow hemp as a biofuel feedstock. The company is planning smaller-scale beet ethanol plants in Williamsburg, Columbia and Pikeville. Current plans are to test hemp pellets mixed with coal with a report expected for issue in February. Kentucky is a traditional hemp growing state.
