Proterro lands $3.5 million in new funding

In New Jersey, Proterro has landed $3.5 million in its most recent funding round to help it continue developing its technology that aims at sugar production below 5 cents per pound from cyanobacteria. Lab-scale production is currently at 10 times that of sugarcane on a per acre basis, with the expectation of eventually reaching 30 times the productivity of sugarcane.
