Flex-fuel pumps reaching small towns in Nebraska

January 2, 2013 |

In Nebraska, two new flex fuel pumps are now open in Hartington, a town with a population just over 1,550. The pumps, which supply E10, E30 and E85, were funded in part by a grant from the Nebraska Corn Board and Nebraska’s 23,000 corn farmers. According to the Nebraska Corn Board, there are approximately 80 such pumps throughout the state and one in 10 Nebraska motorists owns a flex-fuel vehicle. As the nation’s second-largest ethanol producer, flex-fuel customers help strengthen Nebraska’s economy, while increasing energy independence and lowering environmental impact.
