Niche Vehicle Network provides £50,000 for research automotive uses of bio-composites

In the United Kingdom, The Manufacturer reports that the Niche Vehicle Network is providing £50,000 for research to be conducted by the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing, TEKS UK and Performance Engineered Solutions. The research funding covers three months to research possible replacements to carbon fiber and epoxy resin composite technologies.

PES design director, Dan Fleetcroft was quoting as saying, “This is an exciting project, both in terms of the untapped potential for bio-composites in the automotive industry, and having the opportunity to work on the project with key strategic partner organisations such as TEKS and the AMRC.”
