BioChemCat to be commercially viable at scale within six months

January 21, 2013 |

In Washington state, the DOE-funded BioChemCat project that produces biofuel using agricultural and organic municipal waste will be ready to go to commercial scale within the next six months. The system is feedstock agnostic and can be optimized depending on the specific feedstock that is used. At its heart is the pre-treatment system that was developed that that requires heat and pressure to tear the structure of the waste apart, allowing microorganisms to convert it into biofuel.
