Flax Energy set to receive ASTM approval for flax biodiesel soon

January 30, 2013 |

In Canada, Flax Energy Corp. expects to announce during the first quarter that it is the first company in the world to receive ASTM certification for biodiesel produced from flax. Canada produces 56% of the world’s flax. The company’s cold press biodiesel production avoids the use of chemicals. Founded in 2008, the company has a small plant on the Toronto waterfront that processes 46 tons of flax seed per day, with the fuel supplied to Toronto-based Steam Whistle Brewing and the cities of Brampton and Mississauga, among other clients.
