Raizen expects mills to favor ethanol when cane crush starts in April

In Brazil, Raizen expects sugar millers to favor ethanol production over sugar during the upcoming harvest that will start in April due to low sugar prices. Thanks to Petrobras boosting local gasoline prices by 6.6%, hydrous ethanol has become competitive again. During the 2012/13 season, millers used 49.59% of cane for sugar production.
