REG seeks new incentives deadline for Kansas biodiesel project

February 12, 2013 |

In Kansas, Renewable Energy Group still plans to open its biodiesel facility still under construction in Emporia but is trying to renegotiate with city authorities the incentive compliance agreement deadline through the end of 2018 due to prevailing market conditions. It says that much will depend on the renewable fuel standards set in California, where the plant’s production is destined.

“We’re committed to working with Emporia on finishing the plant.” said REG in statement to the Digest. “Our goal is to work with the community to create stable public policy that rewards green innovation, sustainability and private capital investment.”
