University of Iowa regent in hot seat over attempts to sway biofuel research

In Iowa, a storm is brewing over the intervention of University of Iowa’s regent on behalf of the ethanol industry regarding research presented by one of the university’s professors warning about the negative impacts of water use in corn ethanol production. Some say the regent has gone too far in trying to re-dress research at the university while he claims he’s just trying to get people together to collaborate.
