February 21, 2013 |

In the Philippines, Aboitiz Equity Ventures and U.K.-based Gazasia have formed a joint venture to build a liquid bio-methane facility to fuel vehicles. An article in the Manila Standard quotes Juan Alfonso, Aseagas Director, as saying, “We’re looking at several sites. We like to do big projects. Roughly about $30 million per plant.” Alfonso noted that construction should start  sometime between Q2 and Q3 of 2013, somewhere in Luzon, although a site has not been selected. Alfonso also stated, “Waste-to-fuel is a new approach to use methane.”
