New officers, board take office at Advanced Biofuels Association

In Washington, the Advanced Biofuels Association today named its new board and executive committee, selected by unanimous vote during ABFA’s March Board meeting held in Washington, DC.

“Advanced biofuels remain a critical component of America’s energy future,” said incoming Board Chairman Wayne Simmons, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sundrop Fuels.  “Continued expansion of the advanced biofuels industry supports greater national security, energy security and economic growth.”

“ABFA’s officers and executive committee reflect the diversity, potential and growth of the advanced biofuels industry,” said ABFA’s President Michael McAdams.  “This is a great leadership team for this association as they are the ones who are bringing tomorrow’s fuels today.”

The newly appointed Executive Committee and Officers include:

Board Chairman: Wayne Simmons, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sundrop Fuels; Board Vice Chairman: Chris Ryan, President and Chief Operating Officer, Gevo; Treasurer: Joel Velasco, Senior Vice President – External Relations, Amyris; Secretary: Andrew Rojeski, Vice President and General Manager – Renewable Energy, Tyson Foods; President: Michael McAdams. On the executive committee of the ABFA: Lee Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer, Virent; Guido Ghisolfi, President and Chief Executive Officer, Chemtex; John Kasbaum, Senior Vice President – Commercial, KiOR and Jeff Webster, Chief Operating Officer, Sapphire Energy.
