Cereplast issued patent and announces joining the Algae Biomass Organization

In California, Cereplast has been issued a patent by the USPTO for patent 8,389,614 for biodegradable nanopolymer compositions and biodegradable articles made thereof. This patent describes biodegradable compositions including polylactic acid and other components, and incorporates nanofillers that improve the physical and thermal properties of the material. Cereplast also announced they have joined the Algae Biomass Organization. The ABO is a non-profit organization that promotes the development of viable commercial markets for renewable and sustainable commodities derived from algae.
