Absolute Fuels RIN scammer gets 15 year jail sentence

In Texas, Jeffrey David Gunselman, who pleaded guilty to 51 counts of wire fraud and 24 counts of money laundering in December for selling fake RINs that weren’t connected to actual biodiesel production, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and to pay $55 million in restitution. His company Absolute Fuels never had a facility to produce biodiesel yet the RINs he “generated” led to deposits into his bank account of $41.7 million.
