UK’s RSPB looking to produce biofuel from wetland habitat restoration waste

In the UK, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is exploring the use of reeds from newly restored wetland habitats such as reedbeds to make biofuel briquettes because of the need to make restoration economically viable. The increase in demand for briquettes for electricity production provides a ready market.
