Florida House votes 77-39 to dump E10 blend

April 15, 2013 |

In Florida, the state House of Representatives voted 77-39 on Friday to remove the state’s 2008 E10 blending mandate. Proponents of the bill say they want a free market and that government mandates discourage unsustainable business models. Opponents to the bill fear that passage of such legislation would scare off existing companies in the state who would locate elsewhere and make it difficult to attract new ones. The senate’s version of the bill doesn’t include repeal of the blending mandate.
