“Tough Characters” is the title of an entertaining yet incisive look at the search for biofuels-ready plants that can survive drought and other tough conditions.

Agave, sorghum, soybeans, corn and cordgrass all come under the microscope, among others, in a profile by Chris Woolston that appears in the new issue of the quarterly Bioenergy Connection, published by the Energy Biosciences Institute.
