Indonesian officials seek bilateral deal with EU on biodiesel dumping claims

In Indonesia, senior officials from the Trade Ministry, the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry (ESDM), the Industry Ministry and the Agriculture Ministry are meeting with the European Union delegation this week in hopes to clear up allegations of government subsidies of biodiesel exports, something that the trade ministry expects can be handled bilaterally. The EU has alleged that the government has paid producers a subsidy of 21 to 31 cents per liter. The government says the subsidy was only 10 cents per liter and that was to boost domestic consumption.
