Swiss chem company seeks partner to compete with Novozymes on second-gen

In Switzerland, Clariant is getting ready to go head-to-head with Novozymes and other second-generation biofuels technology providers with their own waste-to-fuel technology. The company is currently looking for partners to help fund the demonstration plant. The move comes on the heels of several years of restructuring following the $2.5 billion purchase of catalyst maker Sued-Chemie in 2011 to see where the best value products can be developed and launched.
