Former Cascade Grain ethanol plant now shipping ND fracked crude

May 15, 2013 |

In Oregon, the former $200 million Cascade Grain, in part paid by $36 million in subsidies and tax credits, is now being used by its current owners to store and ship crude oil produced by fracking coming from the North Dakota oil fields. The oil is being stored in the tanks that once held (albeit little) ethanol and is now shipped to West Coast oil refineries from the Columbia River location.
