In France, Global Bioenergies has successfully pilot tested its isobutene process at laboratory scale and will begin industrial pilot testing in July 2013. The next phase will be supported by $6.8 million from the French government’s investment agency, Commissariat Général à l’Investissement. The company’s new process converts sugar, cereals, agricultural and forestry waste into isobutene, a key component for fuel production.
