June 17, 2013 |

In France, Arkema was awarded the EUBIA prize (European Biomass Industry Association) at the 21st Biomass Conference held in Copenhagen. The prize this year rewards Arkema for its various research and development work in the field of bioresources and biosourced materials.

Arkema currently markets an extensive range of polyamides (PA11, PA10) derived from castor oil, byproducts derived from this oil, epoxy soybean oil and flaxseed oil, activated carbon from pinewood, and fatty amines. These various product lines derived from vegetable raw materials today account for almost 11% of Arkema’s sales, a figure that should rise to 15% by 2016.
