Biofuels Digest Index drops to 71.71 as S&P tumbles in global selloff

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, fell to 71.71 as the broad equities markets tumbled and the S&P 500 saw its biggest one-day drop since November 2011. For the day, Gevo (GEVO) plunged 6.17 percent to $2.13, while KiOR (KIOR) also was caught in the crossfire, sinking 6.12 percent to $3.99. Among other equities, BiofuelEnergy (BIOF) lost 7.07 percent to $3.42. Overall, declines led advances 28 to 1 for the day.
